Perfluoroelastomers

Perfluoroelastomers, (FFKM), are fully fluorinated hydrocarbons whose key trait is the ability to withstand exposure to almost any chemical.

Minnesota Rubber and Plastics has developed 70 and 80 Shore A perfluoroelastomers with high temperature performance to 450°F (230°C). Perfluoroelastomers remain flexible to 30°F (0°C).

When a designer specifies rubber or plas Relative to other elastomers, perfluoroelastomers generally exhibit higher compression set values and are the most expensive of all elastomers. In addition, FFKM elastomers are difficult to process. Compression molding is most often preferred.
